South Seas 2022
September 27 | South Seas Island Resort

CHECK-IN and ARRIVAL
Please arrive at South Seas Island Resort, 5400 Plantation Road, Captiva, Florida between 2:00 - 4:00pm on September 27. There are no early check-ins. We will be there to meet you and assist.

GROUP RECEPTION AND DINNER:
TUESDAY 6:00PM | KINGSTOWN LAWN PAVILION

You will need to take the resort Trolley to the KINGSTOWN LAWN PAVILION, it is at the other end of the resort.  There are trolley stops throughout the resort and we recommend you download the South Seas Island Resort app on your iPhone (click here) or Android (click here).  It will give you a real time update as to where the trolley is.  It runs every 20 minutes. The app also tells you where all the resort features are located.

GETTING AROUND THE RESORT
We will be staying at the South end of the resort close to our marina, fishing, reception area, etc.  Most of the time you will be walking to these areas.

However, the resort is more than a mile long and some activities will be remote.  You can always take your car to the activities, but the trolley is much more convenient.

Click below for a marked up map (red circles are where we will be). Additional copies of the map and further assistance will be provided at check in.

The T on the map shows the trolley stop closest to where we will be staying.

CLOTHING
We recommend long sleeves, long pants, wide brim hats and face buffs for fishing.  If you are going with short sleeves and short pants, bring PLENTY of SPF-50! Remember sunglasses, rain gear, sunscreen. Dress for the entire event is casual, no need to dress up unless you want to!

CONVENTIONAL FISHING
You will be doing guided fishing on Wednesday and Thursday morning, and guides will provide all tackle. Fishing will be from skiffs, bay boats and kayaks. If you think you may want to fish at other times (see attached schedule for free times), then bring your own gear for non-guided fishing.

FLY FISHING GEAR
We will have limited guided fly fishing available from boats, kayaks and skiffs.  Guides will have tackle, but you may want to bring your own gear.  6 and 8 weight rods with floating line should do the trick.  All fishing will be in the salt for snook, redfish and whatever else we get to bite!  So flies should include minnow patterns like clousers, deceivers, schminnows, etc.

OTHER
There are refrigerators in your townhouse.

Remember the rules: No guns, no drugs, no booze (during activities). Conduct yourselves accordingly as a former United States Military member.
